Our Chorus

Current membership in the Coastliners totals more than 75 men from a variety of backgrounds. Our members include students, teachers, large corporate executives, small business owners, accountants, computer programmers, dentists, doctors, insurance agents, lawyers, package handlers, realtors & retirees, to name but a few. The common thread that binds us together is our love of music in general, and barbershop harmony in particular.

Our yearly activities include: delivery of Singing Valentines; participation in the Far Western District Conventions (which include chorus & quartet competitions) in the spring and fall; golf tournaments; parades; pizza parties; spaghetti dinners; and caroling at some of the local shopping malls. Every year during the first week of June we write, produce and perform our annual show, a stellar event that has been attended by thousands of South Bay people for over fifty years.  Each spring we sponsor the Los Angeles Area Harmony Sweepstakes competition, which features all types of a cappella groups competing for chance at a national award. 

At the South Bay Chapter guests are always "welcome as the flowers in May.” We offer something for the experienced & novice singer alike. If you sing in your church choir, or sang in your high school glee club, come on over & check us out. If nothing else, you'll experience an evening of good, clean fun. Even if you just sing along with your car radio or in the shower, you owe it to yourself to pay us a visit. It doesn't hurt, really. We meet every Wednesday night at 7:30pm at the Salvation Army Community Center, 125 W. Beryl Street, (corner of Catalina & Beryl), in Redondo Beach.
